The coach can run on Aperi's own key, or on an API key you get
yourself from Google, Anthropic or OpenAI. Your own key stays on your phone and the photo goes
straight to the provider you chose; Aperi's key stays on our server, and
the photo passes through a relay that keeps none of it. This page says,
in each provider's own words, what happens to it there.

Runs on the OpenAI API under the same terms as
above, on a key we hold. Our relay meters usage and forwards the frame;
it never stores your photograph, your question or the reply, and the
usage rows it keeps are pruned after 90 days. We will never enable a
data-sharing or training option on our key, and we will never train
models of our own on your photographs.
Your own key is stored on the phone (in the Keychain on iPhone) and sent
only to its own provider's API, never to us.
The coach receives the live-view frame or the last shot plus the
camera's settings as text, never a screenshot of the app.
Conversation history keeps only the most recent frame as an image.
Nothing is uploaded until you press send or ask.
