Terms of Service — Aperi

By installing or using Aperi ("the app") you agree to these terms.

1. What the app does

Aperi connects to a compatible camera over USB or Wi-Fi to show live

view, read and change settings, capture images, and provide AI-generated

photography coaching. It is an independent product and is **not affiliated with,

endorsed by, or sponsored by Sony or any camera manufacturer.** Camera brand and

model names are used only to describe compatibility.

2. Bring-your-own-key AI

Coaching features require an API key from a supported AI provider (Google,

Anthropic, or OpenAI), or use of a paid managed tier if offered. When you supply

a key, you are responsible for your usage and any charges under that provider's

terms. The app sends your images, camera settings, and messages to the provider

you select solely to produce coaching replies. Your use of each provider is also

governed by that provider's own terms.

3. AI output is guidance, not fact

Coaching replies are generated by third-party AI models and may be incomplete or

wrong. They are educational suggestions, not professional or safety advice.

You are responsible for your own creative and technical decisions. Report

objectionable AI output using the in-app control.

4. Camera control is at your own risk

The app communicates with your camera using reverse-engineered, unofficial

protocols. While built carefully, no such integration can be guaranteed against

every camera/firmware combination. Use at your own risk; we are not liable

for missed shots, camera state, data on memory cards, or hardware issues arising

from use. Always keep original files backed up.

5. Purchases

Ad removal is a one-time purchase; any subscription (if offered) renews per the

app store's terms until cancelled. Purchases are handled by Google Play / the

App Store and are subject to their refund policies.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use the app to break the law, infringe others' rights, or attempt to

misuse the AI providers' services. The coaching assistant is scoped to

photography; it isn't a general-purpose assistant.

7. No warranty; limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum

extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or

consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid

for the app in the prior 12 months.

8. Changes

We may update the app and these terms; continued use after changes means you

accept them. Material changes will be noted with the date above.
